Bonus Episode 5- Dionysus Fall Equinox

Arin, Jonathan, and Ember get together to talk about what it was like leading and taking parts in their Fall Equinox ritual honoring Dionysus. Jonathan talks about how, even though our Grove has multiple members who often take parts leading rituals, as Senior Druid he still often finds himself stepping up to help out when members are unable to do their part. Ember talks about some of the thought process that went into writing this ritual, and the surprise “modern” element of the ritual.

Episode 8 “Hellenic Hearth Culture/Interview with Missy”

This month Arin and Jonathan invite members of the ADF Hellenic kin “Oi Asproi Koukouvayies: White Owl Kin” to join them on the podcast. They are joined by Reverend Rob Henderson current “Basileus” (Chief) of the Kin, “Thexalon” Dave Kleinschmidt “Polemarkhos” (Secretary) of the Kin, and Diane “Emerald” Bronowicz Egelhoff, former Basileus of the Kin. We talk about some basic Hellenic information with them, what a Hellenic ritual brings that is different from some other hearth cultures, the importance of Hestia, and and what a Greek Symposium really was, among plenty of other topics.

Our Deity of the episode today was Hestia, goddess of the hearth fire, who was invoked first and last at every Hellenic ritual. Find out more about Hestia here

Our music this month is: Damh the Bard, playing “Pagan Ways”
